As you have been reading this website you might be asking yourself ““Why?””

  •  Why should I go to church?
  •  Why should I study the Bible?
  •  Why have all these programs?
  •  Why should I change?

The answer to all these questions can be found in the Bible.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” First John 5:13

Our purpose for being in the Creston Valley is to show people that they can have a personal relationship with God and know that they are going to heaven. This is not a religion but a relationship. Most people today are either opposed to religion or greatly affected by it. Have you ever considered that God wants us to have a relationship with Him? The Bible says in John 3:16, “ For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There are several things that we must truly believe in order to have this relationship with God.

1. You must realize that you are a sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”  Romans 3:23 God gave man the ability to choose between right and wrong. Sin is a conscious choice on man’s part that violates God’s law either by thought or action. It is sin that prevents mankind from having a personal relationship with God.

 2. Sin has a price.

“For the wages of sin is death…”  Romans 3:23a
That price is DEATH! Not just a physical death, but eternal death which according to the Bible, is eternal separation from God in the “lake of fire.” If you are content to just stay as you are and ignore God’s message, you will have to pay this wage for your sin!

 3. Christ paid the price.

“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”  First Peter 3:18 Jesus Christ came into this world in the form of a man. He lived a perfect life, yet was crucified to pay your sin debt.  “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”  First Corinthians 15:3-4

 4. Repent from your sin and accept Christ as your personal Saviour.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  Romans 10:9
You must recognize the awfulness of your sin before God and the futility of your “good works” to earn your way into heaven. Trusting Christ and His crucifixion to have your sins forgiven is the only way you can know, from the Bible, that you are going to heaven.  “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23b
Will you make this decision today?
